Data Collection

PowerCord does not collect any personal data, usage analytics, telemetry, or crash reports. Your recordings, settings, and workflows stay on your device and remain under your control at all times.

Screen Recording

PowerCord uses screen recording to capture video of your Mac's display when you initiate a recording. This feature is only active when you explicitly start a recording session by clicking the record button. The screen recording data is:

• Captured only when you initiate it: Recording begins only when you choose to start it and stops when you end the session.
• Stored locally on your Mac: All recordings are saved to a location you choose on your computer. No data is transmitted to external servers or cloud services.
• Under your complete control: You decide what to record, where to save it, and what to do with the files afterward.
• Never shared with third parties: PowerCord does not upload, transmit, or share your screen recordings with anyone.

The screen recording capability is used solely to create video files that you can edit, share, or delete as you see fit.

Permissions

The app requests macOS permissions for screen recording, microphone access, and optional camera use so it can provide the features you select. These permissions operate entirely within macOS and can be adjusted at any time in System Settings.

When you grant screen recording permission, PowerCord can capture your display content only during active recording sessions that you initiate. The permission is handled by macOS's ScreenCaptureKit framework, which ensures your privacy and security.

Third-Party Services

PowerCord does not integrate with third-party analytics, advertising networks, or cloud storage services. We do not share or sell any information because we never collect it.
